Hi! We are Blake and Cullen. Although we grew up only five miles apart, our paths didn’t cross until middle school. After meeting on our first day of 6th grade, we immediately started a friendship. Our friendship quickly turned into a relationship, and it continued throughout high school and into college. We both chose to attend Campbellsville University; Cullen fell in love with the campus and its mission, and Blake received a scholarship to play football. We have been married for 4 years, and together, we love to travel, gather with friends and family, and cheer on our favorite athletic teams. At the same time, we also appreciate spending time together enjoying fall days, coffee dates, game nights, playing with our dogs, and working around our home. Additionally, we are active members at our local church, and we volunteer in our community through several organizations. We are very excited to give our love to a child and expand our family through the blessing of adoption.
We have been praying for a baby to love for just over three years. Early 2022, we were diagnosed with unexplained infertility. With this, we prayed for what God had planned for us. Adoption has always been part of our plan, and we whole-heartedly believed this diagnosis was Him saying, now is the time to begin the journey. In the fall of 2022, our journey began.
We recently built a new two-story, five bedroom home on a ten acres of farmland. We love to
entertain friends and family, so we designed a house that made our kitchen and family room the heart of our home! Hosting game nights, playing with our dogs, cooking, and watching football are some of the fun things we like to do. We live in a small town, tucked between the knobs of Central Kentucky, but a quick drive to shopping and dining. We currently have no farm animals of our own, but we do have two small dogs who love children.
Blake’s family is located all over the United States. His parents recently moved to western
Kentucky. He has an older brother, who lives with his wife in California, and a younger sister, who lives with her fiancé in North Carolina.
Cullen’s family lives in Central Kentucky. Her parents live about five minutes down the road.
Cullen’s younger sister, lives with her husband, two towns over. They recently had a child of their own, who visits and stays with Blake and Cullen often. Cullen’s family, because they live so close, gets together often.
After being together for over ten years, we have built and grown our own relationship through
communication, support and our faith. We value the same in how we will raise our children. We
want to create a home that allows for open communication. To create that, we must establish
boundaries and cultivate respect through consistency and trust. We also desire to ensure that our child(ren) are supported and loved in every aspect of their lives. Lastly, we hope to grow a family centered around God. We believe that God is the center of our relationship, and we plan to teach our child(ren) the same.
We have a strong desire to grow our family but have been unable to conceive a biological child
due to unexplained infertility. We both love children and feel that we can offer a child a loving a
home in which to grow and develop. We have always felt a strong pull to adopt, and we always
had planned on this being a part of our story. The question was when. Through our diagnosis
we felt God saying that this was His story to write and not our own, and that the time to adopt
was now.
We like to spend our weekdays working, attending Bible study, having dinner with family and
friends and watching sporting events. In the warmer months, we actively work outside around the house. On weekends, we typically can be found working on house projects, having game night, going on weekend trips, babysitting their nephew, and attending church.
Additionally, we love to travel, both domestically and internationally, to experience new places,
people, culture and food! We have been to Disney and the beach more times than we can count,
as well as Hawaii, Lake Tahoe, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New Orleans, the Bahamas, Ireland,
Scotland, and Guatemala. We attend Kentucky football games frequently and try and squeeze in
one NFL game each season. We also enjoy spending time with family on the lake in the summer.
In our small, historic town, we have areas that offer hiking trails, a picnic area along the river, a
state park, multiple churches and an elementary school. Our community is very close to larger
urban areas like Lexington and Louisville that offer greater cultural opportunities.
We have always dreamed of becoming parents, and we are very excited about the opportunity you have given us. We have so much love to share for this child as we expand our family. Please know we will unconditionally love and cherish your child, provide a lifetime of opportunities to grow emotionally, intellectually, physically and spiritually, and we will make sure that we do our best to honor your wishes in this process.
We acknowledge that this is a difficult road. We know that creating an adoption plan is a very
challenging journey, but we are so thankful that you chose adoption. We are willing to have an open relationship with you and your family, if you choose. We hope this book gives you a small glimpse at our lives, and we look forward to meeting you!
Thank you for taking the time to consider us as parents for your child.
Sincerely,
Blake and Cullen
