We met in the typical 21st century style: online. From the moment we matched, it
was love at first swipe. Erica loved his dog Peanut, and Jason liked that Erica is a college
basketball fan. It also helped we were both studying to be Certified Public Accountants (CPAs)
at the time. Before long, we started dating and eventually rescued our other dog Scout together.
Jason proposed on a terribly stormy night in front of Erica’s parents and a few of our friends.
Erica was thrilled! Before long, we were married in October 2019 surrounded by all our family
and friends. It was a huge celebration, and we felt all the love and happiness from our loved
ones.
Fast forward to May 2021, we moved to Erica’s hometown and into our home, our happy place.
With lots of room to roam outside, it is what we wanted, and our two dogs were overjoyed.
While we are happy in our new home, we are ready to share it with a couple little ones. We have
known for years that we wanted to adopt. It’s what felt right and now the time has finally come.
We are ready to welcome children into our house and are excited to see what the future holds.
Jason – Jason was born and raised in Kentucky, just south of Ohio. He’s the youngest of two and
is close with his older sister. Jason majored in Accounting and Finance at Northern Kentucky
University. He obtained his CPA and settled down in his career in accounting. You can often
catch him fishing in his free time, but he also enjoys board games, puzzles, and camping.
Erica – Erica is a Kentucky-native who’s the oldest of three and was raised Catholic. She’s part
of a huge, close-knit family. For college, she left town to attend Xavier University where she
majored in Accounting and eventually became a CPA. Erica found a great group of friends at
XU who remain close to this day; many of which are also expanding their families! She has
always loved to travel and incorporated that into her career in auditing. Her hobbies include
reading, volleyball, baking/cooking, and projects around the house.
Love can take many shapes and forms, and in our case, it comes in the shape of two dogs. Peanut
is a 14-year-old Pug Pekingese mix, and Scout is a 7-year-old Beagle Australian Shepherd mix.
We love to take them on trips with us, and they have never met a stranger.
We love the character of old homes which is why we didn’t hesitate to buy a 1920s house on
almost an acre of land. People always appreciate the charm of our house, and we love to invite
friends and family over. We also have room to keep bees out front!
Erica has a massive family based in Kentucky but also throughout the country. Erica’s mom is
one of nine, and Erica’s dad is one of three and is close with two of his cousins. That means lots
and lots and lots of family and happy memories.
Jason has a smaller family. While many are located close, several cousins are living across the
country. His mom is one of three sisters and dad is one of two. His favorite childhood memories
include spending Sundays at his grandpa’s country cabin in the woods.
Our families are often getting together with parties for Kentucky Derby, Easter, Memorial Day,
Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Chinese New Year (one of Erica’s cousin is
adopted from China), birthdays, and more. Everyone is thrilled with the prospect of our children
joining the family.
We love to travel as much as we can. That includes far off places like Alaska and Belize but also
places closer to home like Land between the Lakes and Red River Gorge in Kentucky. The world
is a big place, and we want to experience it all. We are excited to pack up our kids and take them
with us!
Some of our other hobbies include playing volleyball weekly (which we plan on teaching our
kids), cake decorating (Erica will definitely make her kids’ birthday cakes), and fishing (Jason
can’t wait to teach his kids how to fish).
We know you are going through a difficult decision, so we wish you peace and welcome you
with open arms. Adoption has always been our first parenting choice, and our family won’t be
complete until we have a couple of children. We are excited to have our children grow up with
love, stability, and surrounded by a large family. A profile can only reflect so much so we look
forward to talking to you soon!
