Our Lifestyle

Our faith is very important to us. We believe in Christ. We believe that a home founded upon the doctrine of Christ will be a safe and loving home for children to be raised in. We pray together as a family and make a point to eat dinner as a family each night. We love getting outside in nature! We camp and hike and enjoy family adventures in the beauties of nature. We enjoy watching the Utah Jazz play basketball (especially when they decide to win). We often have Alexa play music while we have dance parties in our living room. Above all, we love any time that is spent together. We love traveling together. We take annual vacations to the Tetons with Ally’s family, along with Hawaii, Montana, Colorado, and many more! Each year, it is exciting to see what new place we will visit and make wonderful memories with our family. We absolutely love exploring the beauties of nature! We enjoy going to the mountains of Wyoming, multiple times a year, with John’s family. We love hiking the beautiful mountains and lakes of Glacier National Park in Montana. We have loved jumping off cliffs into the clear waters of Montana or Victoria Island in Canada. We fit in at least one annual backpacking trip to the Windrivers of Wyoming and one climbing trip to the City of Rocks in Idaho. We also visit John’s family in California and love going to Disneyland and exploring the Redwoods! It has been so fun to take Edith to see new places and we look forward to showing our future children all of these beautiful and exciting places! We sing Christmas carols with John’s extended family by the piano, and search for a glass pickle on the Christmas tree (whoever finds it gets a prize). We open themed, meaningful gifts and participate in activities with Ally’s family for the twelve days leading up to Christmas. We alternate between families for Thanksgiving each year. The year we are with Ally’s family, we vacation in Southern Utah, where we hike and enjoy time with extended family. With John’s family, we enjoy a delicious meal with extended family—it is always an adventure! A couple of years ago, we ate Thanksgiving dinner in Disneyland! We watch Stranger Things leading up to Halloween and have themed Halloween dinners with fun, mystery menus. Ally loves the fall and Halloween; we often go to corn mazes and go hiking in the fall colors!
