We love being parents! Lucas’s birthmother changed our lives when she entrusted him to us and we enjoy coming back to Texas for visits with her. Emily was raised in a small town in Iowa and enjoys running, gardening, reading and cooking. Mark is strong and adventurous, but very nurturing, and he enjoys biking, reading, rock-climbing and home carpentry.
We live with three cats in a three bedroom home on a quiet street with many families.
Our relatives support our adoption plan and cannot wait to welcome our next child into the family.
Lucas’ birthmother was unexpectedly pregnant again and we were hoping to adopt that baby, but she was stillborn last summer. We traveled to Texas to hold a small graveside service with the birthmom, then took a few months to emotionally recover before deciding to continue our second adoption journey.
We hope you will choose to continue a relationship with us and with the child you place so that they can grow up knowing you and caring about you just as we will.
We are very comfortable with fully-open adoption and if our next child’s birthparent/s desire the same sort of relationship with us that we have with Lucas’ birthmom, we will welcome the opportunity to provide updates, stay in touch and come back for visits.
