Hello, we are Ryan and Monica! Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story.
We want to start by acknowledging that this is probably not an easy time for you. However, we want you to know that we believe adoption is a courageous and selfless decision. We deeply admire your courage and strength.
Our story together began when we first met at a work Christmas party. We both worked for the same company but spent our days in different buildings. Soon after the Christmas party, we started working together in the same building and then started dating about a year later in 2011. After three years of dating, we got engaged and then were married in 2014.
We both knew we wanted to expand our family, and started to try right away. After a couple of years of trying and then an unsuccessful attempt at IVF, we knew adoption was the way we wanted to expand our family. We would love to have a large family. We have so much love to give, we cannot wait to welcome a beautiful baby into our home!
I knew right away that I wanted to marry Ryan. I have no idea how to capture all of this man’s amazing qualities in such a small space, but I can say that he is so different than most people. Ryan has amazing communication skills and an openness about him that is unmatchable. One of his close friends described him as having a heart of gold and there has never been a truer explanation for him.
One thing that I deeply admire about Ryan is that he is always looking for ways to make life better for others. He does this each and every day in his career with the federal government, and does it here at home too. For example, whenever I get home from work, he walks out to my car and carries all of my bags in the house. Then, he gives me a kiss and tells me he missed me. He does this every single day. He loves with his whole heart and is committed to being the best husband he can be. I cannot wait to see him become the amazing dad I know he will be.
Monica is an amazing woman. She is a kind, sweet, loving, and caring person. She’s very driven and has excelled in her career as an insurance adjuster. She also has a great sense of humor and loves to laugh. Monica brings so much joy into my life and into the lives of others, and I can’t wait for her to do the same for a child.
I know that Monica is so excited to be a mom. It’s been a long difficult journey for us, and especially for her trying to get pregnant. Monica is going to be a great mother; I know that in my heart. Her patience, kindness and love are always shining. We have friends and cousins with little ones and Monica is great with their kids, always playing and listening to them. I can tell the true joy she has when she’s around them. I feel honored and lucky that Monica is my wife and I look forward to her becoming a mom.
We just recently moved into our forever home. It’s a ranch that was built in the 1980s. It was kind of a fixer-upper, but we love to do that kind of work, so we were up for it. We have been here for just over a year, and we almost have every room done! We do most of the work ourselves with the help of our family.
When we chose to move, we knew we wanted to be in the country, either near woods or on the water. We ended up choosing a four-acre lot with beautiful woods and nature surrounding us. We live down a short road with a handful of neighbors, so it’s really peaceful and quiet. The thing we love the most about our new home is all of the wildlife around us. We have baby deer drinking in our front yard almost every day!
We love that we have that “out in the country” feel but are only 10 minutes from a big college city. We also have many small lakes nearby that give us plenty of opportunities to use our boat and kayaks. It was important to us to pick a community with a lot to offer and great schools for our future children.
Our parents are extremely excited to become grandparents. They have already been buying clothes and other things for the baby. They are all retired and will be our biggest support while raising the little one. We also have a large extended family that we love to spend time with. Everyone lives in the same general area, which makes BBQ’s and get-togethers easy to arrange.
We have a lot of great traditions with our family! We are so grateful that we are able to spend most of our holidays together including our large Christmas Eve party. Last year we all wore matching pajamas, it’s always so much fun! We also have family camping trips, trips to the lake, vacations together and countless other activities.
We love the outdoors! Some of our favorite activities including going out on our boat or jet skis. We love to kayak, ride four-wheelers, and ride bikes. We also just enjoy quiet evenings together, taking our two beagles for a walk.
Ryan loves to fix ANYTHING. He’s always working on some project around the house or out on our property. He also likes hunts and fish, and just spend time in nature. Growing up, Ryan played hockey and still loves watching the Red Wings along with all of the other Michigan sports teams.
Monica loves to cook, read books, and decorate for holidays. She’s very crafty and is always has a sewing or craft project in the works. She also loves art (her Dad is an artist) and going to museums.
We look forward to sharing all of this with a child. We can’t wait to spend time together in nature as a family, support a child as they pursue different sports or activities and just be there for them as they discover the world!

We are excited to provide everything we have to offer to your baby; a warm and loving home, acceptance, our large extended family, and unconditional love. We also plan to have another child, either through adoption or biologically, so that this child will grow up alongside a sibling.
We hope to someday meet you and would be happy to stay in contact throughout the child’s life. Regardless of the level of openness you prefer, know that your courage, selflessness and sacrifice will be forever celebrated in our home.
