Hi, we are Trevor and Jessica! We are honored that you are taking the time to read our story and learn more about us as prospective parents.
Like many couples today, we met online, though we were a bit surprised to do so! Given that we didn’t live very close to one another, we should not have appeared on each other’s suggested page, but the Lord had other plans, and we are so glad that He did. Our first date was an all-day affair and we both quickly knew we had found the one. Trevor proposed on one of our weekly date nights and Jessica was completely surprised. We married eight months later, on a warm 80-degree March day in 2017.
We started trying for children right away, but after unsuccessful attempts with medical assistance, we were informed IVF would be our only option. As we prayed for the Lord’s guidance, we felt the door of adoption opening, and we have not looked back since. We are so excited to welcome a sweet child into our home through adoption.
Trevor is the kindest and funniest person I have ever met! I remember after our first date telling my mom that I had never laughed so much in my life. I am so grateful that he has been making me laugh ever since.
During the day, Trevor works in the mortgage industry, helping individuals and families to achieve their homeownership goals. But outside of work, Trevor is the ultimate family man. He loves hanging out with our nieces and friends’ children. He is the fun uncle with all the Jurassic Park dinosaur toys and craft supplies! He is so creative and has built both the “Tangled” and “Frozen” castles for our nieces and a “Winnie the Pooh” house for our friends’ children. I cannot wait to see what he will build for a new little one!
Trevor is going to make a great father. He is so kind, gentle and fun! I look forward to the day I can see him outside playing with a kiddo, teaching them a new sport (hockey is his favorite), or helping them build a fort or their own Disney castle.
It is hard to explain in a couple of small paragraphs the wonder that is my wife and just how amazing I believe she will be as a mother. Jessica is loving, kind and understanding. She is forgiving, slow to be frustrated, has a perfect sense of humor (well, at least she laughs at my jokes) and is always open to new adventures. Her loving nature has made her an excellent aunt to our nieces; the girls cheer with glee when Aunt Jess enters the room.
Jessica is a smart, strong woman who can master anything she puts her mind to. I cannot wait to watch her teach a child how to read music or play the piano, which she excels at. I look forward to hearing the sounds of music and singing echo through the house when she has a duet partner. Jessica will certainly be able to show a little one how to properly organize something. In her career as our church’s executive assistant, Jessica balances many tasks with grace. After a full day of meetings and calls, she makes time for our weeknight dinners and daily conversations. She is always prepared, thoughtful and joyful.
While I do not think it is possible to completely explain all the ways in which Jessica amazes me, what I can say is that she is ready. She is ready to be a mom, and I am confident that she is going to be the most wonderful mother ever.
We live in a beautiful 1896 home that still has the original woodwork and light fixtures throughout. One of our favorite things is decorating our house in a vintage Christmas theme! We have long imaged a child helping us, while we sip on hot cocoa with the classic Christmas songs playing in the background.
We are located within a five-minute walk to our historic downtown and we love being so close to the city. Our city has yearly festivals and weekly summer farmer markets that we cannot wait to bring a child to. Not only are we close to our downtown, but we are only a 10-minute walk to a local beach. Nothing beats walking down to the water and relaxing on a hot summer day.
Living near Detroit, we have access to many citywide festivals and events. We love going to Greenfield Village each Christmas for the holiday lights event, taking a sleigh ride, and eating some of our favorite donuts! We also enjoy attending different sporting events and concerts and cannot wait to experience them all through the eyes of a child.
Every member of our family cannot wait for another child to spoil! Both of our families have such fun traditions that all of us cannot wait to share with a new little one.
Trevor’s family is looking forward to taking a child to the cider mills in the fall and hanging a new stocking on the fireplace. Grandpa Paisley goes all out for Christmas, with stocking gifts galore.
Jessica’s family is looking forward to taking a child to the local county fair, where they can learn about farm animals and how to plant a garden. They will get to sit at the “kids table” at the annual Superbowl party, where Jessica’s mom makes the best homemade donuts! Every member of our family is excited to meet them and give them unconditional love.
If you were to look up the word “traveler” in the dictionary, our names would be there! From taking a road trip to Arkansas or flying to London, traveling together is one of our favorite things to do. We love seeing the world! We cannot wait to see vacations through the eyes of a child, to watch their face light up when they see the Disney World castle for the first time or when they first stick their feet in the ocean. We imagine it will be magical.
You can call it tradition, or maybe it’s just our idea of a perfect Trevor and Jessica trip, but every trip includes three things: an outlet mall for Jessica, a zoo or something historical for Trevor, and of course a local donut shop for both of us. We love our donuts! A little one is sure to have plenty of opportunities to have a sweet treat.
Thank you for taking the time to look through our profile and for being brave and strong and bringing this beautiful child into this world. We pray daily for you and imagine that you are not making this decision lightly.
If we are chosen as an adoptive family for this little one, we promise to give your child a loving, fun, and safe home. We would love to stay in contact with you in whatever way works best for you. Please know that no matter what level of contact you decide, we will honor you, and your child will always know what a wonderful and strong mother you are.
Again, we thank you for your time. We will continue to lovingly pray for you and wish you all the best in whatever decision you decide for you and your baby.
